Ike has lived and practiced law in Abbeville for over fifty years. He earned a BA from Louisiana Tech and a Juris Doctorate from LSU Law School. Ike is a Louisiana State Bar Association member and thus licensed to practice in all Louisiana courts. He is also a member of, and licensed to practice before, the U.S Western and Middle District Federal Courts for the State of Louisiana, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. In addition to his private practice of law, where he represented individuals and family-owned businesses in various disciplines, Ike served as a staff attorney for District Attorney Nathan Stansbury and a Special Assistant District Attorney for the last three DAs. He served as Abbeville City Attorney for approximately eighteen years and was general counsel to Sheriffs Ray LeMaire and Mike Couvillon for a combined thirty-three years. He has one daughter, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
